Dr. Patrick Ryan, DC

Dr. Patrick Ryan's passion for chiropractic care is rooted in his lifelong love of athletics and movement.  Born and raised in Nevada City, Dr. Patrick relied on chiropractic care as a young adult to maintain his athletic pursuits in conjunction with a healthy, balanced lifestyle.

While attending Nevada Union High School, Patrick met his now wife, Clare, and they have been together ever since.  Dr. Patrick attended UC Santa Cruz where he received a bachelor's degree in politics and played nationally competitive ultimate frisbee.  After college he moved to the Bay Area for several years as Clare finished at UC Berkeley.  In this formative time he saw the benefits and strengths of chiropractic, and decided to pursue it professionally.  He and Clare relocated to Portland, Oregon for Patrick to study at University of Western States where he earned a Masters of Science in Exercise and Sport Science and a Doctorate of Chiropractic in 2014.  After graduating, Patrick joined Asula Wellness, one of Portland’s top chiropractic clinics, where he worked for six years.  After the birth of their sons Hank and Paxton, the Ryans decided to return to Nevada City to raise their kids with family and enjoy the California mountain lifestyle.

Dr. Patrick recognizes that every patient needs a healthy, mobile spine and joints to feel balance in their bodies. To help his patients achieve this balance, he uses a blend of time-tested chiropractic manual adjustments, soft tissue work and exercise therapy to restore healthy, normal function in the spine, joints and muscles. He specializes in the spine but also treats most types of sports injuries using the most modern sports medicine techniques.  Dr. Patrick is committed to helping his patients achieve their health goals, whether it be training for a triathlon, decreasing repetitive stress injuries, freeing themselves from pain and inflammation or balancing mind and body.

When he is not helping his patients, you are likely to find him spending time with his family and their goldendoodle Halsey. He also devotes much of his time to enjoying the great outdoors by running NID trails, mountain biking, skiing or playing ultimate frisbee, golf, basketball and soccer.

Dr. Patrick is excited to meet you and discover how he can help you achieve your health goals.
